Murkowski Questions VA Secretary about Sending Veterans to Lower 48 for Medical Care
Sen. Murkowski today questioned Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki about why the VA sends so many Alaska veterans to the Lower 48 for medical procedures when those services could be purchased from providers in Alaska. Secretary Shinseki promised Sen. Murkowski that he would look into the matter and examine other options for providing veterans health care in Alaska when possible.
