WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has contacted the leadership of the Senate Appropriations Committee asking that they retain all Alaska funding items in the remaining Fiscal Year 2009 appropriations bills.

“These are extremely important projects for the State of Alaska, and I am hopeful that most, if not all, will be included in whatever form a final spending plan takes,” Murkowski said.

It is unclear whether Congress will end up passing a catch-all spending bill, individual spending bills, a permanent continuation of FY ’08 spending levels, or a combination of these options. The current continuing resolution expires on March 6, 2009.
