Sen. Murkowski joined Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and two other senators at a news conference in the U.S. Capitol to discuss their recent trip to Afghanistan and Pakistan. The lawmakers left Wednesday, January 6, 2010, and returned to Washington, Monday, January 11, 2010, traveling some 15,000 miles across 10 time zones.
