WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Lisa Murkowski today celebrated National Teacher Day by expressing her gratitude to Alaska’s educators. She offered the following statement and thanks to all teachers who are working to make a difference in a child’s life:

Teachers, teacher aides, principals, superintendents and all those involved in teaching and educating our children deserve the utmost gratitude. As a parent I am grateful for those who have had such a positive impact in the lives of my two sons. Teachers can and do change lives for the better, inspire greatness and help students achieve their dreams. I encourage all Alaskans to reach out today and thank a teacher who has made a difference in their life.
