Sen. Murkowski Floor Speech: America is an Arctic Nation

On May 23, 2011, U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today gave a speech on the Senate floor about how the United States is "waking up" to the fact that America is an Arctic nation -- and the opportunities opening up for the country. Sen. Murkowski also touched upon the fact that neighboring countries are moving forward with offshore development, and that America's hesitancy to sign the Law of the Sea Treaty could have serious financial costs.
